Here is the ideas I have for the back and/or cable management for the TV stand I’m building.

Description:

Upper Left: 3″ strip of wood with a 1 1/2″ cut out for wires to push through (I figured that would be about the height for cables on most audio/video equipment. The “wire hole” shows rounded corners of 1/2″. Other than the 3″ strip of wood, the back is open for increased airflow.

Lower Left: Virtually the same as the upper left idea, but the wire hole has rounded corners of 1/4″.

Upper Right: Same as the previous two, except the wire hole corners are at a 90 degree angle.

Lower Right: This illustration has a solid back with a 1 1/2″ wire hole cut 1″ off the bottom of the shelf.

Personally, I like the lower left illustration the best so far. Leave some feedback as to which looks best, or suggest something else.
